About Sprokit

Hi...my name is Shirley and I desperately need help finding a home for my pittie. I rescued my first dog 12 yrs ago...and now have: Biobi- 14yr old female bulldog mix Bruiser- 7yr old male rat terrier mix Lucy/Ethel- 5yr old chewenie sisters Sprokit-22mo old male pitbull I rescued Sprokit when he was 7wks old...he was raised with the other dogs and does fine with them, but as he is maturing he is trying to establish alpha status and is bullying the other dogs, even so far as to pin them down if they upset him. No blood drawn yet, but it gets loud and scary. My biggest concern is our walks...if Sprokit spots a strange dog he immediately puts his hair up, starts growling and lunging toward the dog. It takes all I have to hold on to him, I have arthritis and RSD in my left hand....I have been doing shorter and shorter walks because I'm so terrified I can't hold on to him and he will either hurt me, himself, or worse another dog. I believe he is more fear aggressive than anything, but I'm not a professional. Finding a home won't be easy...it will take someone willing to meet him a couple times before he will let a stranger touch him. I had an ad out, but couldn't find someone willing to take the time, and am also so scared he will end up in the wrong hands. I don't want to surrender him to the animal shelter, they are a kill shelter. Is there anyone in the Alachua county area that could help me? All that being said...he is like Jeckle/Hyde....super sweet loving pittie at home, but a devil when out on walks. I am not going to ask for money, but ask instead a donation is made to FL Pit Bull Rescue. Please help me save my dog....God bless you for all the work you do! Sincerely, Shirley
