I adopted Zoey when she was 1.5 years old. She had been abused, hit with sticks, perhaps tethered. She is sweet and loyal. She has always had fear based behavior, but she was so much better until we were victims of Hurricane Michael. We lost our home and business, and her place to run. We have been renting rooms and trying to recover, which has meant limited walks and space for her. Her behavior has reverted and she is fiercly loyal and protective of me. I will be 100% honest about any and all of her challenges and yet also have to share that she is an amazing and instinctive animal. She tracks, and can find me my way back home out of the woods. She is intuitive and can tell when I don't feel well and will guard over me. She is quiet in the mornings (we used to have an Airbnb) and she travels amazing- sleeping for 8 hours without waking or needing a thing. She is content at home- does not destroy when left alone. If she is walked and loved, she is content sleeping on her bed all day. I dream of her having a future home where she can safely run and roam (she is deaf), and spend a lot of time with her owner. I want her to live the life she deserves. I believe with the right alpha owner much of her anxiety and fear would be lessened. Please contact me for more information. I am going to keep her until the right owner is sent our way. This person must be very very patient. Some of her past behaviors and challenges may be with her for life.
