Missy was rescued from an abused, neglected, cruelty situation in downtown Houston. Tied to a pole on a short leash with no access to food, water or shelter and abandoned for days at a time, it was uncertain that she could survive. Weighing in at 23 pounds and thought to be around 9 or 10 years old, she was diagnosed with heart worms, parasites, a severe UTI infection, underweight by 10 pounds and matted to the skin. Due to both age and neglect, her eyesight and hearing are also impaired. She is thought to be a black chow mix. She has been treated for all of her issues and is thriving in her new environment. (She will remain on one monthly heartworm medication for about 6 more months) She loves loves loves her walks and her new found freedom to explore the world, possibly for the first time. She is very quiet, well behaved and causes no problems. She is gentle, calm and sweet. I believe a good home for Missy would be with a retired couple or individual that is there to let her out and take her on morning and afternoon walks that she has learned to love so much. Someone that could show her love, comfort and companionship for the last few years of her life would be such a blessing to this sweet girl. If you would like to meet Missy, please contact me and I will make every effort to set up a meet and greet as soon as possible. I am available to answer any questions. It will be a very special person or family that takes her to the next level of freedom, comfort and love.
