Leo was originally rescued from an abusive home where he spent the first 7 years of his life. An older woman who is disabled adopted him a year ago and can no longer care for him. Leo is friendly and loving and well trained however he does have fear based issues. He is energetic and needs to be active. Leo does well with other dogs and loves to play although he does at times try to be dominant. His abusive owner was a white haired older woman and the person who rescued him is a white haired older woman. At times Leo has bitten her as she 'reaches' in to clean his ears or grab his paw. A dog communicator I took Leo to said sometimes he has fear when someone reaches in to him. It triggers a self defense mode that sometimes ends in a bite to the hand reaching in towards him. I have never experienced this with Leo as I have spent many hours walking him and take him for hikes to help get him exercise. I feel that he would be very happy in a pack. He does very well with men. He needs a home with sensitivity and patience with his fear. He is very smart and has a tremendous amount of love to give. Leo's current owner can no longer keep him and I need to find him a forever home. Thank you.
