About Friday

Friday is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this little dog is with a stunning tricolor coat...and the world's cutest ears! Once Friday gets a sudsy bath and a thorough brushing, he will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 2.5 years old and just about 28 lbs, Friday is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a very sweet dog is welcome. Hiking, snowshoeing and backyard fun with his family will be a passion for Friday...followed by flopping down on the couch for some serious end of day snuggling. Friday is every bit the young guy...fun, active and happy go lucky. But at the same time he is a well-behaved and very loving guy (once he's used to his environment). Friday is most likely to express himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses of love. At this point in Friday's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Friday to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We feel very strongly that Friday attends positive reinforcement group obedience classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. We have found in our 15 years of rescue that the dogs that attend these classes are very successful in the home as well as the community. They bond very strongly and respect their people as their leaders. It is through this mutual respect that these dogs thrive as loyal and very loved family members. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/ force-free trainers in your area. Right now, Friday is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. With just a bit of time, Friday falls in love and becomes a very loyal best friend - he would love nothing more than long walks together, hikes on mountain trails, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Friday is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Friday has a stunning coat with the most beautiful markings ever.. you just want to pet this sweet guy all the time. He will require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat super-healthy and gorgeous. Friday will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to always adopting out healthy dogs. We've requested that Friday be neutered/microchipped prior to his transport to Colorado. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Friday's neuter and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. Friday will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 5/25/19.
