About Sophie

Meet Sophie! She is a Siberian mix, already weighing around 11# to 13#. She is a Russian breed. The Siberian has a thick double coat with a neck ruff, perfect for surviving those cold northern Russia winters. She's a sweetheart with an agile, muscular body. At first glance the Siberian resembles the Maine Coon, but she is differentiated by having a more rounded body and head. More info on the breed.... Siberian matures slowly, sometimes not reaching her full physical development until he is 5 years old. The Siberian is well suited to any home with people who will love him and comb his gorgeous coat twice a week. She will have periods of heavy shedding, during which you will need to comb her more frequently. Long hair cats are not to be shaved in the summer, it ruins the insulation factor of their double coat which protects them from fleas and ticks. Sophie is 3 years, fully vetted, declawed in the front and chipped. She has irritable bowel syndrome, which means she needs a special diet that suits her digestive track well and probotics added to her food. She cannot digest low cost foods, and needs her new caretaker to be understanding of her health needs. Sophie also will have flare ups if stressed. She needs a quieter household. She is very much a lap and petting kitty. Sophie doesn't like to be alone a long time, she bonds heavily to her caretakers. We offer a 2 to 3 week trial adoption.
