Meet STARK, 3 years old with a good heart and energetic soul! Stark has been a light in my life since April 2018, where we were introduced through a college friend who asked me to foster him at a time where I was working from home full time. He had been largely confined to a crate, but since being with me, has been entirely house trained to roam free both indoors and outdoors and has not seen the inside of a crate since April. I have fallen in love with him and, while I was still working from home, decided fostering was not good enough and had every intention of making our time together permanent (I call myself his Mama). However, after being unhappy in my role for a long time I got a new job that now requires me to be in the office and out of the house from before 8 till after 6, often longer, as well as working on weekends. Though a happy pup, Stark needs a lot of attention (did I mention the energy?! :), which I am, unfortunately, unable to give him. Stark loves playing with other pups and goes to daycare twice a week where he mingles with 7 other dogs. He loves to hike (helped me prepare for Mt. Whitney with up to 12 miles hikes on a regular basis!), is an excellent swimmer, a pro at tug-o-war, and a great running partner. He also LOVES to cuddle and has his staple spot at the couch as well as a daily cuddle session in the morning before the alarm goes off. However, since I have gotten my new job I have been unable to go on these adventures with him and he and I can both feel the impact it has had. I am looking for a family for Stark that can provide him with the time, love and attention that he needs and prefers, preferably where one or more of the family members are home for the majority of the day. Stark does need some additional leash training as he is very protective of his loved ones and doesn't like to be restricted. He also gets very excited when meeting new people and tries to jump/hug them, which we are also working on. However, the good news is, he is a willing learner and we have already come so far, he just needs a little push to get him over the hump! His daycare has definitely helped him as they take hour-long group walks. He is house trained, as well as having undergone additional private training with trainers I am happy to reference. If you are interested in finding out more please send me a private message. We are in no rush - I love Stark to bits and will take all the time needed to find him his perfect family. To help ensure that Stark goes to a good home I am asking for an adoption fee of $50 that will go towards new supplies for him.
