ADOPTION PENDING Meet Eddie Little Eddie is trying so hard to be brave for his mom and sisters, but like them, he is struggling at finding himself in the shelter. Eddie has lived all of his six years in the quiet safety of a home with his people. Victims' of divorce, Eddie and his tiny family were surrendered to our shelter on May 5, 2019, when his owners no longer had any time for them. Eddie is a Shih Tzu mix. He's a little reserved and often huddles with his mom and sisters for protection. After spending a little time with him, it's easy to see he really just longs for attention. Once he lets his guard down, he welcomes the comfort of kind hands. Eddie's eyes show how uncertain he is and how vulnerable he feels in his new environment. It's heart-breaking to see him struggle, but day by day he gets a little bolder. Eddie has a pretty tan wire-haired coat and the cutest of floppy ears. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash. Eddie (and his mom and sisters) could sure use some TLC. If you're able to open your heart and home to this little guy, get your application in. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
