About Patrick Swayze

American Shorthair
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Hi! My name is Patrick Swayze, and while I may not be a dancer, I certainly am a lover! I came to the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center just a few days ago, but I (along with my sister Binkie, whom you may have already met) are already out enjoying our surroundings and looking for love - in all the right places ! Binkie thinks that she is the most outgoing and loving of the three of us who came in together, but I think that I could give her a run for her money! I certainly am a people cat, and have never met a stranger. To give you my stats, I am an 11-year-old male neutered domestic shorthair with claws. I can't claim to be an exotic color like Binkie; I'm solid gray. But I'm still a handsome fellow if I do say so myself! I'm 11.5 pounds, which the vet says is a fine weight for my long frame. One thing that I do need to mention though is that the vet said that I have kidney disease. That's not terribly uncommon in older (although I wouldn't describe myself as old!) cats, and can actually be controlled to an extent by diet - no nasty pills necessary! I certainly don't look or act sick, so I think I have plenty of years of loving and being loved ahead of me . Another, funny this time, thing about me is that I'm cross-eyed. Most people associate that with Siamese cats, but I'm that way too. If you take a look at my close-up picture you can see it. And unlike Binkie's unnatural love of vacuums and being vacuumed, I am a proper cat who hates them. Don't even think about coming near me with one of those monsters! Dogs are fine; other cats are fine; but vacuums are absolutely not. I do have to say that I don't know how well I'd get along with children. Mom never had any around, so I'm not sure how I'd react. Although as laid back and friendly as I am, it might be fine. Who knows? Like my sib, I miss Mom very much, but I also really, really want to find a fur-ever home where I can be loved and give my love to others. Won't you please consider coming down to the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center and meeting me? Not only am I a handsome guy; I'm a charmer as well. The Welcome Center is located at 1520 N. Hancock and is open at least part of the day virtually every day of the week. That didn't use to be the case, but now there are so many wonderful Welcome Center volunteers that it's possible now. Thank you ladies and gents! If you'd like to make an appointment to come down and meet me in particular, you can call Safe Place at (719) 359-0201 or email them at [email protected]. See you soon!
