About Max

Adoption Fee: $100
Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Deciding to rehome one of our family pets has been a very emotional, long, and difficult decision. We all love him very much, but at this point, it would be selfish for us to keep him just because we love him. Max deserves to be in a home where someone is home with him most of the time, and he would probably do best in a family with older children, and probably no other dogs. He's great with our 6 year old female pit, but he needs to be the main focus of the attention. Max is a super sweet, very protective 2.5 year old pit bull. He loves to cuddle and play. He plays well with our older female pit. He plays with and torments our cats as well! He has a big appetite, and will eat ANYTHING!!! He sometimes has accidents in his kennel and the house. He does NOT whine or bark to let you know he has to go potty. We have learned that he just comes up to you like he does when he wants to be petted. Max has had dry/itchy/flaky skin issues since we got him and the vets we were seeing tried many different things, such as antibiotics and steroids (steroids made him behave a bit aggressively) He seems to be severely allergic to fleas, even when treated. Max is a VERY good protector. He is loyal and loves his people. However, he gets jealous/upset (maybe a bit aggressive) when we play with our kids or when they're playing too rough with each other. As I stated above, Max is very protective. He has almost bit my husband for playing too rough with kids, he almost bit my brother in-law when he helped move a bed into our house, and also tried nipping at my best friends fianc when he put his hand around her. These were all on separate occasions. (Max had never met my brother in-law or friends fianc, and he was fine after proper introduction.
