About MICKEY & MINNIE - $800

Adoption Fee: $800
Dachshund / Jack Russell
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

'MINNIE & MICKEY were saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved. MINNIE is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped and at the time of rescue in the middle of April 2019, weighed around 5.00 pounds. MICKEY is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped and at the time of rescue in the middle of April 2019, weighed around 6.20 pounds. They have an estimated date of birth of 30 January 2019 and are listed as Dachshund mix . We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. They are bonded and so we intend to adopt them together and the REDUCED adoption fee is $800. These two pups are so much fun, they are so animated and keep me entertained just watching them and their antics. They are confident, curious and have not been intimidated by anything. They are very affectionate and love to snuggle on the bed when they get chance. They love to run and chase and wrestle, with each other, and also the other dogs be they big or small. Although they have not had any training they are responsive. They will require and active family and someone who understands that small dogs need training, exercise and mental stimulation as much as bigger dogs. They both use the dog door to go outside, but wouldn't know to let you know they want to go outside, so as with all dogs families should expect a few accidents whilst they learn and transition to their new family, home and lifestyle. They have been around cats and are very playful with them, chasing them and wanting to play - they are not aggressive with the cats, but can be boisterous - a fragile cat would not do well with them. MINNIE and MICKEY are a fun loving pair, they are very bonded and although play with the other dogs, always end up playing together and sleeping cuddled up together. They are great with the other dogs and love to run and charge around. They are extremely affectionate and love being up on the chair or sofa snuggling. As with all dogs they will need basic and advanced training so that they can learn their families rules, boundaries and expectations. They are very responsive and I feel that they will be easy and fun to train and will be eager to please. They are gentle pups and I think would make great family dogs. They are puppies and so there is a lot of work involved and although they are small they can still be very mischievous and will soon be teething. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
