Gravy was found on the side of the road and we have done everything we can to find his owners. It's possible that he was dumped given where he was found and the behavioral issues that he has. He needs a patient trainer who is familiar with behaviors common to maladjusted/untrained herding dogs. Gravy doesn't seem to understand the social cues given by our other 5 dogs, and while he isn't aggressive, he is extremely annoying to any dog that isn't interested in playing with him. He has issues with anxiety and has a tendency to pee a little when he gets excited. He also exhibits poorly executed herding instincts by nipping at my ankles when I let him out of his crate after being gone from the house. Gravy is very food motivated and could be trained into a really great dog by the right person with a lot of patience. I have reached out to multiple herding dog rescues with no luck and will be forced to take him to the shelter soon (he has been living with us since Nov 2018). I fear he will not do well in a shelter and could very well be put on the euthanasia list. If you're interested or have questions, please let me know. I'm willing to work with anyone to find this dog a good home. I will also waive his adoption fee if you make an appointment to have him vetted and neutered (would also request a reference from your vet).
