We pulled Gustave the Husky out of South LA Shelter during the Woolsey fires to make room. He was the saddest dog there, in horrible shape with chronic skin infections, anal tumors and mystery wounds. The staff called him Ghost dog. His time was up. It has been a long journey of getting strong, healthy and learning to be a dog, but Gustave has become the floofiest Husky you'll ever meet. He is incredibly smart and needs a home with a dedicated, savvy person or people that understand the complexities of the working breed. Gustave is presently in training with the renowned behaviorist Steffen Baldwin to work on his fear aggression with strangers entering his home and resource guarding. He loves physical and mental stimulation, going for walks and cuddling. Gustave is a good boy when left alone, is quiet and house trained. He is super affectionate and loyal to anyone he knows. He has lived in foster with a variety of dogs, but does best with bigger dogs that aren't dominant. He would do best without kids and definitely no cats or small pets. He is 6 or 7, good on leash and knows not only basic commands, but some impressive tricks as well.
