Foster Location: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $100 Age: 2- 3 years Breed: Chihuahua Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, recent dental Sparky came to Fuzzy Pawz after he was surrendered to a local shelter. He was terrified in the kennels, so he came to us to give him a chance to blossom and boy did he ever blossom! Sparky spent his first day scared in his crate and just defending himself; barking, growling, acting nuts acting way bigger than his 5.5 pounds. His foster siblings gave him some space but welcomed him with open paws when he ventured into the backyard with them. After a couple days he learned what a safe and fun place he ended up at! Sparky has some misshapen back legs, so he walks and runs a little funky, but it doesn't cause him pain. In fact, running around the yard and chasing toys is one is his favorite activities! His is always ready for tug of war, fetch, or wrestling. Once he is done with playing he is ready to curl up and nap as close to you as you'll allow. Honestly, he is a bit of a lap hog, but will share if you insist. Sometimes he will put himself in for a nap in his crate. And, speaking of his crate, is crate trained and happily goes in to hang out while you're away from home. Sparky does need continued potty training, as it seems like his previous home didn't do much training. He does best if he can be let out at least every 4 hours or so, otherwise he may have an accident in his crate. He is very treat motivated, so with continued practice and patience, he will learn! Sparky does great with the other smaller dogs and cats in the house! His previous owners reported he wasn't good with children, and while we haven't seen this behavior ourselves, he would do best in a home that has children 13 or older.
