About Mouse

Adoption Fee: $300
Yorkie mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This precious girl is Mouse! Mouse is a Yorkie mix who is between 2-3 years old and weighs 8 pounds. She is very scared when she first meets new people and it takes her a couple of hours to settle down and realize she is safe. After that she bonds quickly! She came to us from a shelter in Mississippi where she was scheduled to be euthanized. At the shelter she was snapping at everyone who tried to come near her because she was so afraid. Mouse was recently adopted but she was so afraid she managed to escape the first night so she was returned to us after she was found. We can't stress enough that she is a nervous little girl and she needs to be kept safe until she settles in. This probably means putting a harness and a trailing leash on her and keeping them on for the first few days so that she can be easily retrieved to let out and bring back in. We know that she can settle in quickly because she was only with her foster for a few days and she was already settled in and starting to play with the other dogs! She just needs a little time, patience and vigilance to make sure she feels safe. She loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom! Since she is a nervous girl she does not need to be in a home with small children. She gets along fine with other dogs but has not been cat tested. Also, given that she is easily startled, a fenced in yard would be preferable because she may get scared and run. Mouse is fully vetted, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. Now the only thing missing is her loving family!
