I have been rescuing shy dogs for many years and always brought them in my house with my pack until they were ready for adoption. When I went to the shelter and saw this puppy in the corner who would look away and never had eye contact I knew I had to help him. One of the volunteer told me she had touched him and petted him for long minutes before he crawled to her lap. He was running loose on the street and had to be trapped and had not chance to be adopted in the Shelter since he was so shy. He came to our house with 5 other dogs and grew up with us and our daughter who is 12 years old. He is learning about manners and is potty trained. He learned to play with the other dogs. We have 2 males and he is fine with them. One thing was striking when he came to us was his walk. He moved and barks like a lion!! It is very unusual and very deep. So of course his name had to be 'Simba the Lion King'. He is gorgeous and looks like a Rhodesian Ridge Back and Lab. He has the ridge. He is now 30 LBS and still has that walk.. We decided to send him to puppy School for a few weeks. It is very nice place in Largo Fl where they work with dogs and train and rehabilitate.if you would like to meet him please fill out the application online and will be happy to discuss it. He is unusual and will require a great person who can work with him and let him be himself. He can be adopted with one of his female friend he knows like PJ who is a female Chihuahua or Luna an other great dog. Both of these females are young like him and are very compatible with him. Great match!! the application can be found at www.findahomegiveahome.com thanks for reading about Simba the Lion King. Please note that we do not adopt to family with young children and no renters thanks for your understanding His adoption fee is $200 more pics available upon request
