About DARTH - $300

Adoption Fee: $300
Lab / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

DARTH was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved. DARTH is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 12 December 2018 and at the time of rescue in the middle of April 2019, weighed around 33.00 pounds. He is listed as a Lab/German Shepherd Mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. REDUCED ADOPTION FEE - $350 DARTH has been at the rescue now for around 6 months and has grown into a big, handsome boy. He is most likely around 70 pounds, maybe a bit more but he is fun, active, playful very loving and affectionate. He gets on great with other dogs living in a trusted communal area with around 15 other dogs ranging from small terriers up to 120 pound German Shepherds and gets on great with them all. DARTH is a typical teenage boy, he is excitable, curious and mischievous but is also very responsive and so training would be fun and easy to do with a consistent schedule. We do not know how he is around cats or livestock at the rescue so are unable to comment how any dog is or will be around them. DARTH needs an active family who can give him the lifestyle that he needs, walks, hikes, adventures, trips to the beach, camp, lakes - anywhere and everywhere he can burn off some energy, explore new smells and have a lot of fun. He needs a family that understands the importance of training to ensure he knows what is expected of him and enable a happy life together. He is a social boy who loves to explore and then snuggle up with his friends or relax outside. He is always happy to see people and will run up happily, tail wagging to great his new friends. He is young, active and needs a family hat can give him a good active life, suitable to his size. DARTH does use the dog door to go outside, but will most likely not know to let you know he needs to go out, so as with all dogs transitioning to their new family and lives, we do expect families to expect a few accidents whilst he adjusts and learns. %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDCanadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
