*** NATURAL ATHLETE & RUNNING BUDDY *** DOBIE HAS GREATNESS INSIDE OF HIM !! *** 'DOBIE' (named for the 50's television show 'Dobie Gillis') is a 60 lb., 1 to 1.5 yr old, mixed male we rescued from a very high kill pound. Dobie is a fun, silly soft-hearted love bug who initially is happy, high energy, running buddy, then settles down and would like nothing better than to sit next to you & snuggle on a couch. Dobie loves to play with other dogs, especially with fun female dogs, ... and then it is rumpus play. Dobie has been around small & very small dogs, who dominate & intimidate him (Dobie runs away). He has been fostered with cats, and he leaves the cats alone (actually he is rather intimidated by them as the cats' dominate him). Dobie can be headstrong & willful ... but it is a game to him for attention. He is incredibly smart and does, actually, wanting love, approval and to please. He has soft eyes, looks lovingly at you, and wants to kiss your face (and sometimes climb in your lap). The ideal home for Dobie would be a strong, experienced dog owner who is athletic & outdoorsy. Dobie would be great with older children. Dobie has been neutered, de-wormed, micro-chipped, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
