About Pokey

Foster Location: Boise, ID Adoption Fee: $40 Age: 14 years Breed: Jack Russell mix Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped Pokey was turned into Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after being bounced around a bit and we are committed to finding him a wonderful retirement home. This boy is very mellow and enjoys being pet; he loves to sit in your lap and will roll over for belly rubs. He just wants to hang out with you and enjoy some down time. Pokey is super sweet and an absolute joy to have around - the perfect lap dog. He will try to stand on his hind legs to give kisses if you bend over to pet him. However his previous owners let Pokey run the house and he will nip if he doesn't want to do what you want him to do; his 2 big triggers are being picked up and if he has to take pills. His foster family has been working on this with him and he is getting much better. While he enjoys kids due to age and his desire to be the boss sometimes no kids under 12 please - the kids need to be able to live with Pokey's boundaries. This cutie is house trained and walks well on a leash - he enjoys going for walks every day. He is calm around other dogs and would do well with another small dog or by himself. Pokey is very food motivated and will happily learn anything you want him to; he aims to please. He is also very quiet, in the weeks we have had him he has never barked.
