My name is Frankie, I love my foster mom, but I'm ready for my forever home! I'm a 1.5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff) /Australian Cattle Dog (ACD) cross. I'm not just a pretty face though, I really need someone with ACD/herding dog experience that is active and wants to work on training with me because I LOVE to be rewarded for good behavior and I am very smart! Here are some other things you should know about me: - I will need to go to an indoor home only, but I am housebroken. - I am a minimal shedding dog. - No small children please, they make me nervous... - Preferably no other animals as well, especially small animals including small dogs, I have quite the prey drive and would benefit from muzzle training. I tolerate some other dogs as long as they are not dominant. - I'm outdoorsy - love hiking, I would make a good camping buddy. - I will make a good running partner once I get passed all the distractions. My foster mom used to take me running at night�'�|well more like she sprinted and ran out of breath while I waited for her to catch up! - I have the attitude of a typical ACD, I am stubborn, a limit tester, and mouthy�'�| - I learn things you teach me very quickly, will I listen to you all the time? That's the real mystery but I need someone to work with me on that. - My previous owner was awesome and had already taught me a lot of cool tricks like sit, lay down, shake (with both paws), and I am almost have stay! - REACTIVE to negative reenforcement - positive only! I am food AND toy motivated. - I am easily deterred from bad behavior with my favorite toy. - I hate being left alone unless I'm crated. I am very good in my crate unless I really have to go poop then I will be sure to let you know! I am 100% crate trained. - I LOVE car rides! - Peanut butter is probably one of my favorite things in this world beside running�'�|OH! And jumping! I love to jump! I can jump really high! I even know how to jump into your arms on command! - I have a ton of energy, but I also like relaxing on the couch with a good bone or my kong toy full of PEANUT BUTTER!!! - The only thing I like to tear up is paper and cardboard, I know what are toys and what are not toys, but please don't test my good behavior and leave me alone because I love my crate and feel safe in it. - My favorite game is tug-o-war, I am constantly wanting to play that even with my leash when I'm super excited! - I've come a really long way, but I still need some help with manners, I am so ready for my forever family to help me with them and to have an everyday routine in my new home!
