About Howard

Introducing 'Howard': Howard came to Red Rock Rescue 2 years ago. We estimate him to be about 7-8 years old. He is quiet, housebroken, and not destructive in the house (he is not a fan of cages). When he came to us we noticed he wasn't too fond of men. Who knows what his background was as he was found as a stray in Georgia. Shortly after coming to us he was adopted by a great couple who had previously adopted from us. They were aware that Howard takes a while to warm up to men and were willing to work with him, by taking it slow. Unfortunately, the adopters tried to clean his ears and he bit the male adopter on the hand. The bite was just situational. Howard is by NO MEANS aggressive or vicious. In fact, he is his adopted dad's buddy, now that he has gotten to know him and trust him. Howard is just a guy that needs his personal space. He would even do well with a dog that is not an 'in your face' kind of dog. Howard is a fun dog! He loves running in the grass, doing zoomies, and chasing a tennis ball. Please see his video!! :) Are you an experienced dog owner who would respect Howard's need for personal space? He would do best in an adult home with a fenced in yard to run and play in. If you already have a dog, a meet and greet is a must. This boy is totally worth the effort. A little patience goes a LONG way with him! Come meet Howard and be prepared to fall in love...... Howard has been part of the Red Rock family for 2 years now. He would love a sponsor that will send toys for him to play with. Any monetary sponsorship is also welcomed to help defray the costs of food, medical, monthly flea/tick meds, etc while he waits for his forever home.
