About Jemaine

Meet Jemaine This is a heartbreaking situation. Jemaine was owner surrendered on April 4, 2019. It wasn't that their owners wanted to do it, but circumstances have forced them to relinquish their baby. Life is sometimes like that and now we are on a mission to find this boy a new forever family. Here's what we know about Jemaine. He's a beautiful eight year old kitty. He's neutered and weighs 12 pounds. Jemaine is a short-haired kitty. Jemaine loves to eat and will not let you forget to feed him ha-ha! Otherwise he's quiet and friendly and loves to snuggle. Jemaine is terribly sad and confused at being away from his family. He's been raised by his former owners since he was a kitten and moving to the shelter has been really tough on him. Jemaine gets easily stressed in new situations. When stressed, Jemaine will groom himself raw. We're starting to see signs of this and have taken him to a vet to address. He's currently being treated and his issues should subside once we can get him settled into a new home. Jemaine would do best in a quiet home where he is the only king of the castle. This boy could sure use some TLC to make them feel better. If you're able to open your heart and home to beautiful Jemaine, please fill out an application. If you can offer a safe indoor home to our cat/kitten, submit an application online or at the shelter after a get acquainted visit. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
