About BUSTER - $300

Adoption Fee: $300
Black Mouth Cur / Lab
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

BUSTER is neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 16 November 2018. He is listed as a Lab/Boxer mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. BUSTER has been at the rescue since February 2019. He has seen his siblings and his mum all get adopted and he has been left behind. He does have lots of friends and keeps busy playing, wrestling chasing and snuggling whilst here waiting for his forever family. Since being at the rescue BUSTER has lived amongst a lot of dogs of all ages and sizes ranging from small chi's, middle sized dogs up to adult German Shepherds and so he is very dog socialized and very confident. He is friendly with people and has enjoyed cuddles from a friends 7 year old granddaughter. He has not had any training so his new family needs to be able to spend time with leash training and obedience training. He is very responsive so I do not think it would take long and of course all training is and should be fun for everyone. BUSTER uses the dog doors to go outside to play and / or do his business, he has not had an accident inside since he was a small puppy, however, he is not going to let you know he needs to go outside so a few accidents whilst teaching him is to be expected. BUSTER can sometimes be shy with new people but has been great with children and adults - he is a happy-go-lucky boy. He has not been around cats or livestock, so cannot comment on how he would be around them. Since being at the rescue he is totally loving life, he loves to play with toys, chew on hooves and horns, wrestle and chase with the other dogs and get lots of love and cuddles as much as he can. He is high energy and he feeds of the excitement of the other dogs, but does calm down and settle after a while. He is a great boy who has never shown any kind of aggression in any way. As with all rescue's he needs guidance and training and we recommend families go through at least the basics of training with him themselves so that boundaries, personalities and body language can be learned from each other. BUSTER is very responsive and training would be fun and easy as long as proper training techniques are followed and are consistent. We do not recommend dog parks for several weeks, if not months, it is so very important for families and dogs to form a strong bond and get to know each other before exposing them to the potential dangers of dog parks. Although all GaDaH dogs are very well socialized with other dogs, lots of other dogs have not had the benefit of this socialization and do not always know how to play and act with other dogs. You also do not know the control the other families have over their dogs and you should always have a good recall for your adopted dog before going to dog parks. He is not going to grow anymore, however, is still an active boy and so we are looking for an active family who goes out and about and intends to take their new family member as many places with them as possible. BUSTER would benefit from a family that goes on walks and adventures and road trips together.
