About Murphy

March 31 at 6:27 PM UPDATE: MURPHY WAS EXTENDED FOR ANOTHER WEEK. PLEASE KEEP SHARING!!!!!!! MURPHY HAS RUN OUT OF TIME!!!! HE IS GOING ON THE SHELTER EUTH LIST ON 4/2 AND WILL BE PTS ON 4/5 Murphy, #A0932553 is a handsome, very underweight 4 year old, neutered grey and white pittie boy who has been at the Shelter since 2/20. When Murphy first came to the Shelter, he was treated for possible injuries from a dog fight and having stones thrown at him. THIS POOR DOG WAS STONED!!!!!Murphy is very underweight and you can actually slip your hand under his rib cage. He is extremely underconfident and cautious in new situations. When we took him out today, he was initially very tense and stiff, but relaxed after a while. He continially sought comfort from me rather than Matthew Daughters, but was very food motivated and listened well to Matt. Murphy played well with another Shelter dog and has very nice leash manners. Murphy has a minor bite on his record because he bit a staff members thumb when attempting to take him out of his kennel. Once he is relaxed, Murphy gives kisses and likes to lean on you and stay by your side. Murphy has played well with another shelter dog. Murphy needs an adopter with experience with under confident, timid dogs or a rescue where he can decompress and learn to trust people again. Murphy is at the Contra Costa County Animal Shelter at 4800 Imhoff in Martinez.
