About Brownie

Adoption Fee: $300
Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

This quiet little boy is Brownie! Brownie is a 6 month old Italian Greyhound mix puppy who weighs 10 pounds. He came to us from a hoarding situation and was in pretty bad shape for such a young baby. He is still taking medication for his skin but he is doing so much better now overall. Brownie was recently adopted and returned to us through no fault of his own, the home was just not a good fit. He is sweet but timid and loud noises and lots of activity are not ideal for him. For that reason he should not go to a home with children as their fast movements and activity levels scare him. Brownie gets on well with other little dogs and will play and snuggle with them. His forever home definitely should have another friendly little dog in it for him to bond with and to help show him the ropes. Even though he connects more quickly with another dog than with people, he is a sweet boy who enjoys snuggling next to you when watching TV and at bedtime. He is a bit timid still when being picked up, and when he knows that is going to happen he goes to a certain spot in the house for his foster mom to scoop him up. He is great with the cats in his foster home and has a kitten buddy who he plays with often! Brownie is trained to pee on puppy pads and does a fantastic job at it. He has recently finished all sets of his puppy shots so he's learning to go outside and is getting better with it. He just started going on walks with his foster mom. He is skittish with all the new sights, sounds and smells, so he does not go far, but he seems to enjoy them. He will only go when another dog is with him though. Brownie is a calm loving boy who doesn't destroy the house when left alone so he doesn't need to be crated. What he does need is someone to give him lots of patience and love and let him learn to be a puppy one small step at a time. Brownie is up to date on shots, neutered, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. Brownie doesn't seem to have had the opportunity yet to be a 'normal' puppy. We are hoping that once he's settled in the right home, he will start to open up a bit more and start being the pup he was born to be.
