About Theia

We took this sweet girl off the hands of a shelter she had been at for two years. She was severely underweight, had hook worms, and sores on her body. She is almost fully back to health and has gained ten pounds. We got her after looking for a companion for our other dog that she gets along well with because he is a little bigger than her and submissive. She may be dog selective and not get along with dogs that are dominant as well. However we cannot be more than an intermediate home for her because we have a house with multiple tenants in a crowded neighborhood and lots of people coming and going from the home so she is not a fit for us and I believe there is a more perfect fit out there. We just couldn't deal with leaving her in the shelter in her condition and wanted to help. She is extremely snuggly and affectionate. She always wants to be cuddling with one of us and giving us kisses. She is a bit fearful of men and boys (likely from past abuse) but will warm up to them when introduced by one of us in a way that makes her comfortable, so we believe she will do fine with a male owner. She will react to unknown men at first introduction if not done slowly and try to nip their fingers if they quickly try to pet her from above. She will also react to unknown men or women being in the house if no one is home (unfortunately we have people coming and going when we aren't always there and that confuses her about her protection duties). She is ideal for a low key home without children in a quiet neighborhood for an owner who wants a cuddly protector of the home.
