About Peper

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Peper is special in so many ways! For one thing, this lovable approximately 12-year-old Rat Terrier mix has a longish coat that gives her the appearance of a miniature Husky. Or does she look more like a teeny-tiny 15-lb. Border Collie? It doesn't really matter. She's scrumptiously cute! Peper's care is special too because she needs to take medicine for her heart murmur. It's not a big deal, but it's something that must be remembered every day. And she's special in one other very important way; she's deaf, so she's going to need adopters who are willing to communicate with her in ways that she can see--through body language, facial expression, gestures, and hand signals. Possessing a sweet personality and calm temperament, Peper may be a little shy at first, but once she is comfortable, she is more than ready to sit with you and snuggle. She's definitely a people-oriented pup--actually an adult-oriented pup because she doesn't really care for the energy level of children. She also likes to chase cats and tell other dogs that she's the boss, so she would do best as the only pet in your household. Besides, she thinks she has more than enough fur to keep your hands busy and will relish every bit of attention she can get. In fact, she can become very vocal about telling you when she needs a little more lovin'. Peper will love taking walks with you and has nice manners on leash. She is house-trained and enjoys having a backyard to come and go as she pleases. Peper is crate trained, but she can be trusted to roam free in the home. At bedtime, she will sometimes want to sleep in your bed if allowed or sometimes she prefers her own bed and blanket, which she will nuzzle until it's just right. Either way, she'll want to be in the same room as her people. Let Peper show you that a special dog can be a special treat for someone like you. ------------------------------------------------------ IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING PEPER, please go to new Rattitude's website at www.NewRattitude.org/adopt/, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application.
