About Stella

Adoption Fee: $100
Beagle / Lab
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Adoption Pending Meet Stella Stella is a gorgeous dog that's overcome so much to get where she is today. Stella and her three mates were surrendered to our shelter on January 14, 2019. Their owner was going to lose his home and had no way to take care of them anymore. Stella doesn't know what happened and has been struggling to understand. Stella is a lab/beagle mix thought to be around eight months old. She weighs about 35 - 40 pounds. She has beautiful markings and the sweetest and saddest of eyes. Stella arrived with a lot of scars on her face, front legs and paws. We're not sure why and no explanation was provided, but they may indicate why she is the shyest of all her mates. She's really sweet, but was shut down until she started working with a trainer. This trainer has done an incredible job to show Stella that it's okay to trust and enjoy life. Thanks to her trainer, Stella is starting to blossom and show us the girl she wants to be. She walks well on a leash and enjoys her time outside taking in the sunshine and fresh air. She loves meeting other dogs and enjoys their company. They seem to give her a boost of confidence. We're not yet sure how she does with cats. A lot of activity and sudden movements still scare her and we'll have to see how she does with kids. Stella is not yet house-trained, but she's smart and wants to please. We expect with some consistency and patience, she'll learn quickly. Stella has so much potential for the person who will open their heart and home to her. She's just starting her journey of recovery and could sure use some TLC. The person lucky enough to adopt Stella will be richly rewarded with a loyal companion. Come meet her. We think you'll be glad you did. Stella is vetted and spayed. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee.
