About Bella

Bella has a Sponsor which makes her adoption fee $50 Meet Bella Bella is a beautiful girl who's confused and uncertain at finding herself living on a cold concrete floor in a loud and scary environment. You see Bella's owner lost her home and could no longer care for her. She was owner surrendered on March 16, 2019. Raised by her beloved owner since she was a puppy of five weeks, at the age of six, Bella now finds herself without her people and her home for the first time ever. Her new situation shows in her face, but she gamely tries to be brave. Bella is greyhound/mastiff mix, which gives her a beautiful, calm and regal presence. Right now she's on the skinny side, due to her owner's economic situation, and we're working to put some weight on her. Bella is super friendly greeting everyone with a shy wag of her tail, she walks well on a leash and her owner said she's house- trained. She's friendly towards cats, likes most medium to big sized dogs, although she is scared when they all bark at her, and she does not like small dogs. If you are able to open your heart and home to this sweet dog that through no fault of her own finds herself all alone in the world, come meet her. You'll be glad you did. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
