About Layla

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Once upon a time there was an itty bitty kitten named, Layla. She was at this cat shelter waiting in the window with other kittens for her forever after family to come. She played and played. One day this very nice family came through the door and chose her! She was able to go home and live with them. She was even able to lay by a sunny window in her favorite cat tree every day! She was the only kitty in their life, but she didn't care. She had a family! Layla was a little over a year old now, and had really settled in. Then, one day the family decided it was time to move. They chose a place where they couldn't have cats. So they contact EBCP and asked if they had room. They did. Layla went to a foster home where she didn't know anybody. She didn't know any of the animals that were there. She was very afraid. She just wanted to know where her family went. She missed them very much! Layla was so scared she thought all she could do was hide and hiss at whoever came near her. The lady at the foster home asked if anybody would be able to foster her that had a quieter place for her to decompress and learn to trust again. The perfect person came forward! Layla relaxed and fell in love with her foster family right away! They also found out that Layla can't hear. Usually when you lose one of your senses the others are heightened. We are sure that going from an only cat household to a foster home with other cat fosters and dogs, was just a lot for her to understand at first. She now likes other cats at times. She seems to do well with tiny humans, too! Fast forward and Layla was adopted into a home where she lived for a year. Most of the time she was good, but sometimes she would chance a more timid cat and lunge at her. Their other cat she never bothered. It seems as though she pics who she likes. This family was so upset it wasn't working time after time and surrendered her back to us. So here she is again. Upset, confused and frightened as to what is going on. We are so sad for Layla. We are going to say it's best for Layla to be the only cat. We want her next home to be her forever home! Layla would love for you to come visit her! She is waiting patiently for her forever family to find her. She has so much love to give! If you are interested in meeting, Miss Layla, contact us today! She is waiting for you!
