Brisa is a very sweet senior dog. She belonged to my brother, who died two years ago. I have been taking care of her since he passed, but I am overwhelmed. I have a small house, another large dog, and two cats and two children I have been raising alone. I have been taking both dogs to my full-time job with me, but can't keep doing that. Brisa loves people, and has learned to get along with other dogs. She mostly ignores the cats. She does not like to be left home alone; she becomes anxious and has chewed on things such as a dishwasher, and a doorway. I have left her home with my other dog outdoors for a few hours without any problem. If she is with a person, she is happy. She needs to sleep in the room where her person is. She still loves food, and lives to go out for walks. She can do a couple of miles (which barely takes the edge off for my younger Retriever). She has Cherry Eye in her left eye but is not bothered by it and it does not affect her vision. She has recently had a full check-up at the vet and is in great health except for arthritis in her left hip. She is on medication for thyroid condition but her meds are working well.
