GUS A4207041 Gus is a 4Y DOG BLACK/BROWN GERM SHEPHERD mix. Easy to leash from inside of kennel but intermittently comes to the front to be leashed. Walks hesitantly on-leash, sometimes pancaking but will move again with a tug. Appears to be housebroken because always immediately poops and pees as soon as he exits the building. Extremely head shy...will vocalize when attempting to pet and will back away (recently been using a back scratcher to scratch ears, neck and back which he tolerates but does not appear to love). Always wary of new situations and people. Beginning to take hotdogs from hand with soft mouth...sometimes I can sneak in a lip touch with him backing away. Gus needs a understanding and patient home that will be willing to work with him and let him warm up. Gus has not been evaluated with other dogs as he has been extremely shy. Gus needs a forever home and a hero. Can you please help the poor guy out? Call for more information. Gus is located at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in Phoenix.
