About Dash

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Dash is a fun-loving 9.75lbs chi-weenie (chihuahua - dachshund mix) around 4.5 years old. He has big ears that compliment his big heart and desires to be your favorite cuddle buddy. Dash loves to go on walks around the neighborhood where he will greet children and other dogs. He also enjoys dog parks too and has yet to meet a stranger. Dash's life started out rough, as he was originally rescued from a hoarder's household with about 20 other little dogs like him. He quickly learned what life was like outside of a kennel, and has grown to love the outdoors, people and other pets. Dash found a wonderful home around April 2017 where he takes advantage of the doggy door to go sunbathe by the pool, or on those hot days he likes to snuggle on his mom's lap whilst she works from home. In December 2017, Dash developed epilepsy and after thorough testing, the vet has concluded the epilepsy is due to genetics, as dachshunds are prone to the disease. Dash takes a liquid, compounded, medication on top of his kibble for breakfast and dinner, which increases the length of time between seizures. He recently went 11 weeks before having a seizure which was great improvement! The bottle of medication is $36 and lasts 45 days. Dash's is looking for a new home because his current mom is going to be leaving the US and will be living across several countries for an indefinite amount of time. The decision to find a loving home for Dash is the hardest to do, but it is in the best interest for Dash to have a happy and healthy life.
