About Drexler (west)

DREXLER - A4195398 My name is DREXLER. I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old, and I have been at the shelter since Jan 04, 2019. Drexler is a pretty happy guy when he is out of his kennel. He just hates it in there, and acts kind of mean looking, so people just pass him by. He's so friendly, he has happy tail. that's when a dog injures his tail by wagging it so hard it bangs against the kennel walls causing it to bleed. He came in as a stray, having been found around Belleview St and N 32nd Ave, and even had a chip, but we have been unable to find his owner. He is available for adoption, and would need an experienced handler, as he is kind of independent. He's pretty dominant over other dogs, so needs some socialization skills. Drexler is so different out of his kennel. He walks easily, sits and takes treats gently. I fell while trying to get a photo and he came right up and checked on me. Super sweet dog. Drexler has been here a long time, over 2 months, and is starting to show signs of kennel deterioration. This happens to all social animals eventually when they have been incarcerated for long periods of time. They need social interaction whether with other dogs or people.
