About Tapioca18

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Tapioca has gorgeous green eyes and is a pretty princess whose ears were damaged when she was dumped outside and likely got frostbite. She is a people person, first to greet guests, and wants to keep you company while you are at home. She has a unique language of chirps that she uses to answer back when you talk to her and has lots of silly faces she uses to get your attention. She loves to play with balls and lasers but will find anything on the floor to play cat and mouse. She likes to spend her days sunning herself and looking out the windows for birds. At night she will stretch her body out along your leg and sleep tight stealing your warmth. She is adorable when she sleeps often putting her paws over her eyes and nose. You can often hear her purr from across the room and is happiest laying in a reserved spot next to you. Tapioca had some quirks that were unexplained until she was diagnosed with hyperesthesia, which means she is ultra sensitive to stimulus, specifically smell and touch. Touch sometimes felt like pain to her, and she is very tactile, liking only certain textures. Medication has resolved her pain issues, and she now loves to be petted and sometimes now even sleeps in her foster mom's lap. Smells, however, are still an issue and best resolved by removing/avoiding them such as not petting her immediately after putting on hand lotion or not using scented kitty litter. Tapioca is very good at communicating that she is overwhelmed, as her tail starts to twitch, her back may ripple, and she often has a specific chirp that lets one know she is feeling off and either needs space or medication. Due to this, she is not ideal for families that have young children or other fur babies that would not be observant to her tells. She is in the foster-to-adopt program to give her and a new family more time to adjust and learn each other, and due to her condition, she is not herself at PetSmart where there are lots of strange smells. She is doing really well in her foster home, and once the triggers were identified and removed, she became almost a completely different kitty purring away all day. The adjustments are minor, and if someone is open to making those small adjustments, Tapioca will be able to live her best life and be able to share her great personality.
