About Tripod ALEX

Adoption Fee: yes
Bluetick Coonhound / Rottweiler
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

ALEX is very special. He is the victim of a hit and run and he was left in a ditch to die, until he was able to drag himself up and a guardian angel found him and brought him to us. He is a rez dog as are all of our cats and dogs, we work with three pueblos. His injuries were such that we had to amputate his right rear leg. He is an AMAZING dog who loves people, loves cuddling and giving kisses. He's good with dogs and he's living with cats now too! . Some 'must' for Alex: You must be willing to scratch his back (he no longer has a leg to do that for himself). You must love to cuddle and show affection with him. You must have carpeting or water hogs or some sort of non-slip surface for him to get around without injuring himself. Since he has to compensate for the lack of his leg, you must be willing to periodically massage him and help his sore muscles. He LOVES, and must have, soft bedding :-) . Alex loves to go on walks and meet people. His remaining rear leg is still gaining strength so his walks will be sort at first, but he will work up to longer walks. He's pretty good at running through the house when he wants to :-) . He is approximately 2yrs old. His adoption fee includes his neutering, vaccines, deworm and microchip. His amputation surgery is complete. . Our process is to contact us via email [email protected] (please do not call). We have an online application, we have a meeting at your home with your family members including current pets. (Yes we bring the pet to you!) a trial adoption and stay in touch - we love updates! . We adopt locally to the Santa Fe, central ABQ, Rio Rancho and Los Alamos areas of New Mexico.
