About Shadow

Shadow is fostered in Jupiter, FL (Palm Beach County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families. Shadow is a sweet, gentle, alert velcro dog who, true to her name, likes to follow you everywhere or sleep at your feet. She would make a great companion dog. She loves walks, car rides, and especially treats which she takes ever so gently. Shadow is 8-10 years old, 45 pounds, and lower energy for a cattle dog, preferring to stick close to her owner. She is housebroken, leash trained, and doesn't chew or climb on the furniture. She's well-behaved if left in the house alone but doesn't like to be left outside alone for long. Shadow is happy to have other dogs to follow around, or just happy to be with her person. While interested, she doesn't chase the cats or ducks preferring instead to rouse the other dogs to do her dirty work. Shadow loves treats and meal times which she reminds you of about 30 minute prior with increasingly more urgent pokes of her nose. Shadow is slow to warm up to strangers, but your patience will be rewarded with a loyal, affectionate companion. She would do best in a calm home where her people are frequently home. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heart-worm free. As a senior dog her standard adoption donation is $250, however she can be adopted by a senior adopter 65+ for $150 through our Seniors for Seniors program. We are a foster-based rescue organization with foster homes throughout the state of Florida. We predominantly save dogs from municipal shelters throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our rescue dogs live in foster homes - there is no central facility.
