About Clyde

Clyde is in a kill shelter and scheduled to be euthanized tomorrow morning. He is a sweet man who deserves a chance at life. Name: Clyde Cage Number: 13 Breed: American Bulldog Mix Appearance: Tan & White Gender: Male Estimated Age: ~ 1.5 - 2 yrs Estimated Weight: ~ 80 pounds Health: He looks GREAT!!! He is a very large, strong, dog, that will need a very confident owner/handler. Temperament: He is a sweet man and will sneak in kisses if you get close enough! He is strong, and I do not think he really knows HOW big he is! I was surprised how well-mannered he is! He did not rush out of the kennel when I got him, he stood and waited for permission, and walked next to me all the way out of the shelter. He did stop to greet some dogs on the way, but was not overly interested. We allowed him to meet the shelter manager's dog, who is a spayed female. He was really excited, and he just pushed her over trying to get to her. Again, I didn't get the feeling that he was being aggressive, just excited and not realizing how big he is! He was interested in the cats outside, but not enough to try to get to them, and he was easily distracted from them by calling him or redirecting his focus. He never attempted to run towards them. In both of these situations, he would look back at me as if checking in with me, so he HAS had some training, and I think could be trained further. He is a leaner, and as a big guy, that was a little rough on my knee! Lol! He is very sweet, like I said, he is just full of energy, and is strong, so will need to make sure that he has the proper handler for foster and adopter. Additional Information: He was originally dropped off by the day, claimed by the son, so was put on a 14 day hold, but no one ever came to get him! He is STILL in need!!!
