About Derp

Pulled from Downey shelter, Gavin was literally getting pushed to the back of his run by his run mates. Completely submissive, head and tail down, he walked to the back of the run knowing he was too little and too weak to get any attention through the excitement and energy of the other dogs. Gavin was brought in a stray with the only two teeth remaining being completely diseased and dead. A day after we pulled Gavin, one of his teeth actually fell out on its own. Gavin since has had surgery to remove his final diseased tooth and was also neutered. Gavin has shown nothing but love, affection and appreciation to his foster family since he was pulled from the shelter. Gavin has 4 other senior foster dog siblings and 3 cat siblings. Gavin has proven to love being the center of attention and can get a little jealous of others getting attention. He will walk right up and try to put himself in between you and whoever you're petting. He would do best in a situation where the other dog/s are not dominant. Gavin's foster family believes Gavin would also do very well around children. Gavin rarely barks even though his foster siblings are always barking and is loving all the dog beds he gets to choose from. We believe Gavin was kept outside his entire life and literally lights up when he realizes there is another dog bed to sleep in and more treats than he's ever had. He's smart, grateful and would truly make an amazing addition to any home.
