About DAISY MAE

I would like to introduce Daisy Mae,,, Daisy Mae did not have a good start to life, her human just dumped her on a dirt road in rural TN left there by herself covered in fleas and ticks along with an old leg injury, and was over bred and emaciated. She came to Vermont and joined Shonio's Safe Haven Inc. When she arrived we started her on a high protein diet with vitamins to prepare her body for surgery. You see our vet found that her knee cap had slipped out and was on the side of her leg which tendons held in place for quiet some time. When our vet went in to place the knee cap where it belonged we found that she also need an ACL repair. So we got her leg all fixed up and now doing wonderfully. Daisy has put on a bit to much weight and could stand to loose a pound or two and hopefully that will happen now that she is pain free. Well of course she will never be a jogger or a tennis player. Daisy is a fun and loving young lady. We place her age around 4 years old so she has a long long life to go. She wants nothing more that to be loved on so much that she will get nose to nose with you and tell you how much she loves you. She loves to play with toys with you and her favorite place to sleep is under the blankets curl right up next to you and of course she would love for you to place your hand on her an pet her until she falls asleep which wont take long. She loves to get treats and eats her meals like a pro.. She is currently living with 8 other dogs and does very well with them but she has one that is her favorite and she would love to see Felix find a home with her but if that is not possible they are okay being separated and will do wonderfully without each other. She is such a love, and will make a wonderful companion and even better door bell because she will let you know if there is someone coming to the door.. She would make an older couple a sweet companion, as well as a younger couple if their children are extremely respectful of small dogs...
