I'm a 4 year old GSP mix who loves hugs, belly rubs and full body scratches. My foster family says I'm fantastic when it comes to kenneling as they just tell me 'kennel' and I go right in for short periods during the day if they're away and also at night so I don't roam the house. I'm completely housebroken, am decent on leash but I do need some work to curtail my counter surfing. I'm not destructive when I'm out, I just like seeing what the kitchen counters have to offer. My prior life was lived on a chain but despite that I still had basic manners and a happy personality. When I came into rescue I had a torn ACL which the rescue had repaired and I was on crate rest for several weeks so I didn't reinjure myself. Keeping a GSP down and quiet has been a challenge for my foster mom and dad but they loved on me so much I didn't mind not being able to run. Because we all followed the doctor's orders I'm now completely healed and looking for my forever family! I love people, being in a home, kids 10 and up and even do well with cats, but need a slow introduction to other dogs. I had a bad experience with in the shelter so I tend to go on the offensive if other dogs get in my face. In the right home, with savvy owners, I'd probably be okay if the other dog respected my space but honestly, I think I might be happiest as an only dog. I currently enjoy laying in the sun in the backyard, patrolling it for intruder squirrels, playing with my toys and enjoying my new chain-free life.
