About Cody

Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm looking for my forever home, could it be you? My name is Cody - I'm a 3-4 year old, 20 lb. Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix. Believe it or not I also have Manchester Terrier, Whippet and German Pinscher running through my puppy veins. Check out my DNA results! My biggest assets are my Elfin ears, charm and affectionate nature. I LOVE walks! My foster mom thinks I could be great at lure coursing - (aka chasing things) because I get a kick out of chasing cats�'�| I enjoy playing with toys and dabble a little in fetch. I have been known to turn up the charm when food or treats are involved with a party trick I like to call the 2-legged 'paw' beg. I'm a lap dog and just want to hang out with my people. I bond deeply and love adventures - take me to work, to run errands, on a walk, run or car ride. I'm being fostered with 10 other pups both small and medium sized; I've realized I prefer a quieter environment. I've been patiently waiting for my forever home for over 6 months. I was rescued from the Contra Costa Animal Shelter when my owners went to jail and I ended up at the shelter. As a result, I have some separation anxiety issues. I've gotten much better since being placed in my foster home and adjusting to a routine. I need someone who is patient, understanding and willing to work with me. The Power of Chi will provide my adopter with some training sessions to ensure I'm set-up for success in my forever home. However, I will not do well being left alone for long periods of time - so my ideal owner/owners would work from home, take me to work, have a staggered schedules or be retired.
