ADOPTION PENDING Meet Heidi Check out this beautiful brindle girl! Heidi is thought to be a two-year old Mastiff mix. She was found wandering a business park in Gainesville, GA. Heidi was turned into a local vet clinic for help. Sadly, no one was looking for this gorgeous and sweet girl. The vet asked if we'd find her a forever home. Knowing Heidi deserved better than what life has offered her so far, we immediately agreed to help. Heidi arrived at our shelter on January 25, 2019. Here she will be safe and loved until her forever family finds her. Heidi is extremely affectionate and has a lot of energy. Every day she stands at her kennel door hoping someone will notice her. It's hard not to with her incredible markings, her soulful eyes and her tail happily wagging. Heidi's a large girl at 70 pounds. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. We're not yet sure how Heidi feels about other dogs, but she's not cat friendly and will need to be in a home without them. Since Heidi for so long had no one to love and care for her, she tested heartworm positive. Heidi has started treatment and we expect a full recovery. Heidi is spayed and current on vaccinations. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
