About Macy

Pupdate: 8/14/19 Our little miss Macy has put on some weight. She weighed 9 lbs last night so I'll be watching her portions a bit ;) We have made huge strides with her rehab but still have a very large hurdle. She loves us. She is so cuddly and sweet and is amazing with our boys and my husband and I. She loves to play with her smiley face ball and is happy go lucky. She is such a doll. The problem...she hates everyone else. And I dont meant growling and avoiding. I mean she flies through the air at people launching an ankle attack. We have tried everything I can think of. She bites. She bites people who ignore her. She bites people who give her treats. She bites old people. Young people. Tall people. Short people She bites guys or girls or kids with curls. She bites on a leash, in a car, on a walk, in a bar. Macy bites. As you can imagine, this makes adoption quite difficult. She is good with people with time. But it takes time. Some of you may remember how she reacted to us at first and her beginning rehab just to touch her. It will make it difficult for people to have guests over or take her places. Dont worry, we arent giving up. We just have to keep trying new things. We hope an adoptive family will continue to work with her through it...you know once she stops attacking them too. It doesn't take long for her to love now, but it does have it's challenges. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intake: We love this little girl. She was found in the frigid North Dakota winter in a snowbank where she had made herself a little spot. She was there for Lord knows how long and had frozen ice, was emaciated, and her nails are atrocious. A good Samaritan was able to catch her and take her to the pound for safety. She is also VERY fearful. However, we are making great strides at rescue. She was a fear biter and untouchable at first but now is my shadow. We have not tested her with men as my husband is deployed. But she has bitten my child but now will roll over for them for tummy rubs. Because of whatever happened in her past, she will need time to adjust to a family and earn trust. We will do our best to get her back to 100% but she may always have trust issues with new people at first. This tiny little girl is 'a princess' and 'the most beautiful dog ever, like a flower' according to my sons.
