About Potter (east)

POTTER - A4104837 My name is POTTER. I am a neutered male, black and white Labrador Retriever and American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 4 months old, and I have been at the shelter since Oct 13, 2018. Notes from one of our volunteers: 'I've had Potter out a few times now and I get the same really good dog each time. I pull him from the back, he'll sit if you tell him to and give you space to open the kennel door some to leash him. He comes out fine and heads straight to the end of the wing. If you take to long at the door he will jump on you. Heading out to the play yard his pulling is mild. He's not one that is getting walked very often and I'm always shocked at how well he's behaving because of that. Potter appears to be trained. He has show me sit, come, down and shake. His leash skills are pretty good. If you get him going he will play. He does jump when he's really excited, the play has always been initiated by me though. He takes treats gently. Potter pays attention to the people in his space. The man that sat in front of him on NYE commented how engaged Potter stayed with him(the man was reading to him) even with all that was going on. During our walks he stays calm when other dogs go by him unless that dog is going nuts, then he reciprocates. Potter has been in play groups just needs to be monitored. His kennel return is easy.'
