About Prometheus

Written by the wonderful person who saved Prometheus and is currently caring for him. Found this big goofy lug of a dog on Jan 2 in south Phoenix standing in the middle of the road, he could barely move. Tied my scarf around him and helped him get up into my car (a Mini so you know he should have been able to step up himself but he couldn't.) Took him right to Midwestern U Companion Animal Clinic. He got the full treatment, blood work (amazingly clean) and x-rays revealing severe arthritis in his right knee and left hip. Vet believes his hip was an injury that no-one treated. He was in such pain the vet gave me the orthopedic mat, how very kind of them �٪� We put him on medication for arthritis and I bought glucosamine and Salmon Oil. He just about bounces like a pup now. We guess he's 5 - 8 years old. I named him Prometheus after a dog at a rescue I follow and support cuz I thought it was an amazingly cool name. He is getting neutered, a dental and his shots next week. He plays well with my little dogs. Prometheus doesn't know his size and believes he is a lap dog. He follows me everywhere and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I do worry about my kitty tho so she is closed safely in her room. It's not fair to her being cooped up, she is 15 yo and has kidney failure. I promised her I would make sure her time with me is full of safety and love. She gets daily meds and weekly IV. Needless to say he needs a home soon and is up for adoption or fostering. Anyone interested will have a home check by a local rescue and adoption fees will apply. If you can foster I will pay for all of his food and supplies until a new family home can be located. If someone is able to adopt him out of state I will figure out how to get him there - if I need to rent a car and drive myself i will. He is a good boy full of love and kindness - he deserves a good family. He does enjoy short walks too. Message me for deets. Please share.
