I didn't make a good post last time, being far to vague in my description and it has cost me time I don't have. I am dying from a heart condition at 47 years old. I don't have much time, maybe months, but realistically, I could have a major event any day. I am trying my best to find Ralphie a home that would be as similar to the one he has now as possible. Ideally, it would be a single person or couple with no children and no other animals who are very loving and have time and the willingness to make him part of their lives. Ralphie is anything but a typical cat. I have never had to tell him not to do something more than once, he's very smart. I have always interacted with him and his behavior reflects all that attention. Every day for the last 5 years, Ralphie has been waiting for me to get off work at the door, or, if outside, in my parking spot. He is very 'talkative' and very expressive with a wide vocal range for different emotions and needs. He loves to explore outside and he likes car rides, often sticking his head out the window like a dog would. He follows me around the house a lot and will walk around the complex with me, rarely straying far. I can even take him to unknown places, like the park, for walks and he won't stray. Have you ever seen a cat taking a walk in the park? He comes running at night to a loud whistle for bed time too and sleeps cuddled with his dad most nights. He's been my little angel and the only reason I have fought to make it this far. As much as I love him, I am very tired and in a great deal of pain and can't continue to fight anymore. Thank you to everyone who reached out with your support and kind words of encouragement. Ralph will be very confused and hurt when his dad is gone and I want him to be able to adapt. Most people had other cats, dogs, or children or had to keep him inside, so even though I know they would have been wonderful new owners, I had to keep trying. I know I may need to compromise soon. I had to take children out because of his past. He loves to play, so maybe a family with one active cat or one well behaved dog would be ok as long as you could still give him lots of love and attention. I have a contingency plan for sudden death, but it's far less than ideal, so I am still desperately seeking the right home for him. I made a terrible mistake 10 yrs ago and underestimated another cats emotions, leaving him in a home that was far too different than he was used to. They were great people, but couldn't give him the attention he needed with so many other animals, so he eventually got outside and ran away. I will never forgive myself and I'm trying desperately not to repeat that mistake. Please, if you can help or know anyone who can help, contact me as soon as you can. I may be a little slow to respond sometimes, because I am still working, dealing with my own health issue, and some days, just can't face it because the thought is so painful. Thank you so much for looking! Please pray for me, I can use all the help I can get.
