About Amelia

Shih Tzu / Maltese
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Froo froo, petite, ooh la la... these are all things one might think of when they meet Miss Amelia. This girl is tiny _maybe seven pounds), young (about 1..5 years old) and her coat is beautiful! She knows it too. We are positive Amelia is part Shih Tzu, and, well, maybe purebred. If she's mixed with anything else our gut says it's Maltese. Whatever she is, she is the embodiment of gorgeous. Amelia is a little on the shy side and can be overwhelmed by new situations. It is for that reason only that we are looking for a home where there are no small children that can frighten her. She is great with the dogs in her foster home and would be fine around most cats too. We have not had her around large dogs except when they have met through a fence, but she was fine then. Introduced properly, she should be fine. Amelia wants nothing more than to be a decoration on your lap or in your arms. If you are looking for this in your life then please read on or go to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to find out how to proceed. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
