About Baby Roxie

Lab / German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Roxie is a doll and all heart. She came to us, with her mama Shyla, from a homeless man via our veterinarian. Living in a small car in a strip mall with their human was not an ideal situation for any of them so their human asked the vet if they could help him find a rescue for them. We were happy to step up. Roxie is the puppy she should be and it's obvious her human loved her and took good care of her. We believe she is a Chocolate Lab/Shepherd mix but whatever the mix she is perfect. Between five and six months old, this girl is ready for training and a great life. She has been great with all of the dogs she meets and is a little frightened yet curious about the cat at her foster home. Kids should be fine. We are looking for a home where the humans have experience with and knowlefe of what it takes to raise a Shepherd to be a great dog. She will need some good training and needs to think she is performing a very important job at all times. If you believe this is the girl you have been looking for please read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to find out how to begin. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
