About Shyla

German Shepherd / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Shyla is a beauty, inside and out. This girl came to us from a homeless man via our veterinarian and we are so happy to help. What Shyla wants most in life is to ride shotgun with her new human or to call the couch cushion next to them. We do believe she's got some lab in her as her coat is so very lab-ish and her pup that we also helped rehome was nearly chocolate. Shyla is only about three years old and as sweet as sweet can be and is very affectionate. She knows several commands including 'load up' to get in the car, which she does very willingly. She is great on a leash but needs reminding not to pull and to stay on one side of her human. We believe she was allowed to walk off leash until we got her so this is all new to her. Shyla has done great with the large dogs she's met at her foster home. She is actually frightened by bold small dogs and the cat. That being said, she is a German Shepherd and should be supervised around small animals. She has been exposed to kids both in her foster home and at adoption events and did great with them all. The perfect family for this girl would have knowledge of and experience with German Shepherds. If you believe this is the girl you've been looking for please read on or go directly to the Adoption Process page of our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - to find out how to begin. All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - the link is found of the Adoption Process page. Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live. Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed if necessary, de-flea'd (with topical treatment if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
